Celebrating the Past, Faithfully Embracing the Future

On July 27 Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church celebrated their 140th anniversary (and counting) since the beginning of the congregation.  Hoffnungsau Mennonite is a congregation located in the country between the towns of Inman, Buhler and Moundridge, Kansas. Our Celebration service included kids learning how to churn butter, dedication of a historical marker, historical drama, dancers from our WDC sister church Iglesia Camino de Santidad (Liberal, KS), diversity of music, and a fellowship meal. A special part of the fellowship meal was provided by Wootensweetcakes who donated a cake made into the shape of our current church building. Our theme for the historical series this year has been “Celebrating the Past, Faithfully Embracing the Future.”  Our challenge now is to move into the future with hope and determination to serve God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
