Description of grant:
This worship technology grant is available, through the Kids Meet Christ (KMC) program, to WDC congregations who are willing to explore cultural changes with a goal of elevating the communal worship experience for all participants, particularly focusing on children ages 0-12. Worship technology grants may be used for improvements such as upgrading audio-visual systems (AV) equipment to maximize sound and video/streaming abilities or adding additional visuals/monitors for improved visibility and engagement of worship participants. As part of the Kids Meet Christ initiative, the goal of upgrading technology should include creating a more attractive experience for children by allowing for brighter colors and crisper imagery near eye level and increased intelligibility of speech and music. It could also support intergenerational worship by allowing for hybrid (in-person and online) worship.
From 2025-2029, the WDC Resource Commission and Kids Meet Christ Program will offer and oversee grants in the amounts of $2,500 – $10,000 to congregations whose applications are approved. Applications are due by September 1 and March 1 of each year through March 2029. All grant award agreements will be issued within 4-6 weeks of the application deadline.
