Coaching Scholarship through Kids Meet Christ

Description of scholarship:

This coaching scholarship grant is available, through the Kids Meet Christ (KMC) program, to WDC congregations who are willing to explore cultural changes with a goal of elevating the communal worship experience for all participants, particularly focusing on children ages 0-12. Coaching scholarships are available for pastors, staff or volunteer faith formation leaders who are guiding their WDC congregation in making congregational worship more accessible to the needs and desires of children ages 0-12. Coaching offers a supportive space where leaders can express how they feel stuck and/or empowered, learn how they can respond in healthy ways to those who are grieving change, and shape experiments to help their congregation keep moving forward toward worship that more fully engages children and their families.

From 2025-2029, the WDC Ministerial Leadership Commission will offer and oversee a total of 25 scholarships of $600 each for coaching of pastors, staff, or volunteer leaders by approved coaches contracted by WDC. Kids Meet Christ staff will help match coaches with applicants, who will then work together to determine an individualized coaching format.

Applications are due by September 1 and March 1 of each year through March 2029. Applications will be processed within 4-6 weeks and coaching needs to occur within a year of a coach being assigned.
