Se acerca nuestra asamblea anual y es una de las mas valiosas oportunidades que tenemos para conectarnos como parte de un cuerpo en muchas formas: adoramos a Dios juntos, recreándonos con hermandad y compañerismo, reforzando nuestra formación cristiana, compartiendo recursos, escuchando las historias de servicio y como caminamos con Jesús mientras proclamamos las buenas nuevas de salvación.

Todo esto “Unidos en el Propósito, Juntos en el Amor”, como es el lema de nuestra asamblea 2022. Hebreos 10:19-25

Debo confesar que cuando juntos con el Equipo de Planificación de la Asamblea, discerníamos en el tema que fuese relevante y a la ves realista, tuve que darle algunas vueltas a mi cabeza de como podemos estar Unidos y Juntos cuando lidiamos con tantas cosas que podrían obstaculizar estos principios. Creo que inmediatamente venía a mi mente las cosas que nos pueden separar y los limitantes para compartir espacios juntos y ponernos desacuerdo.

Pero gracias a Dios y su Espíritu que nos redarguye, pude entender que el plan divino es mucho mas grande que mis limitantes y que siempre que entidad que la iglesia es de Dios y que yo soy una parte (no el centro) de la iglesia vamos a poder encontrar formas y razones para Unirnos en el Propósito, y poder estar Juntos en el Amor de Dios que es el que sobreasa todo entendimiento.

Esto es parte de lo que también podemos aplicar en nuestras vidas y trabajo en la iglesia. Por eso los invito a que juntos exploremos como podemos vivir en la declaración de misión que propone WDC, testificamos, vivimos y nos conectamos en la misión de Dios.

Para esto considere importante que nos hagamos algunas de las siguientes preguntas y las discernamos en el taller de CPC durante la asamblea.

¿Cómo sería tu comunidad de fe en una forma ideal? ¿A quiénes invitarías a unirse a tu comunidad de fe y como lo arias? ¿Cuáles son los obstáculos que impiden el crecimiento o misión de la iglesia en este tiempo? ¿Cuáles son los dones o habilidades que tu podrías contribuir para ser iglesia juntos?

Creo que el dialogar en forma comunitaria nos abre avenidas que nos ayuden a construir puentes que nos conecten con la realidad y las necesidades de nuestros vecindarios y lugares donde trabajaos, nos recreamos y nos congregamos. La iglesia no debería ser una institución solamente, sino un organismo vivo llamado a transformarse para seguir sirviendo en la obra redentora de Jesucristo.

Fervientemente creo que tenemos trabajo por hacer como iglesia, y que no es tarea de unos cuantos sino de todo el cuerpo. La historia del pueblo de Dios me enseña que siempre habrá temas y circunstancias que nos dificulten el estar unidos y juntos, pero creo que es la invitación de Dios desde el principio de la creación y a través de las enseñanzas de Jesús a que seamos pregoneros y hacedores en el propósito de Dios para nuestras comunidades y el mundo.

As we Witness, Dwell, and Connect in mission

Our annual assembly is coming up and it is one of the great opportunities we have to connect in many ways as part of the body of Crist: worshiping God together, have fellowship, strengthening our Christian formation, sharing resources, listening to stories of service and how we walk with Jesus as we proclaim the good news of salvation.

We will be “United in Purpose, Together in Love” as is the theme of our WDC assembly 2022.

Hebrews 10:19-25

I must confess that when together with the Assembly Planning Team, we discerned the theme for the assembly that was relevant and at the same time realistic. I had to give some thought to how we can be United and Together when we deal with so many things that could hinder these principles.

At that moment all that come to my mind was the concerns that can separate us and the limitations to sharing spaces together and put us in disagreement. But thanks to God and his Spirit, I was able to understand that the divine plan is much bigger than my limitations and that as long as I know that its God’s church and that I am a part (not the center) of the church, we will be able to find ways and reasons to Unite in the Purpose and to be able to be Together in the Love of God that is the one that surpasses all understanding.

This is part of what we can also apply in our lives and work in the church. That is why I invite you to explore together how we can live in the mission statement proposed by WDC, we witness, we dwell, and we connect in God’s mission in the world.

For this, I consider it important that we ask ourselves some of the following questions and discern them in the CPC workshop during the assembly.

What would your faith community look like ideally? Who would you invite to join your faith community and how would you do so? What are the obstacles that impede the growth or mission of the church at this time? What are the gifts or abilities that you could contribute to being church together?

I believe that dialogue as a community opens avenues that help us build bridges that connect us with the reality and needs of our neighborhoods and places where we work, recreate, and congregate. The church should not be an institution only, but a living organism called to transform itself to continue serving in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.

I fervently believe that we have work to do as a church and that it is not the work of a few but of the whole body. The history of the people of God teaches me that there will always be issues and circumstances that make it difficult for us to be united and together, but I believe that it is God’s invitation from the beginning of creation and through the teachings of Jesus that we are heralds and doers in God’s purpose for our communities and the world.
