Community Thanksgiving dinner and worship service

On Nov. 17, 350 members of the Goessel Community gathered at the local High School for a Thanksgiving dinner and worship service.  The vision for this celebration grew out of the local ministerial alliance desire to better serve the community.  The vision was shared with local church and community leaders who in turn volunteered to plan, prepare and serve the full course meal of Turkey and Ham.  The pastors planned lead the worship.  About 5 days before the celebration, the pastors and church members went door to door throughout the community passing out invitation cards to {nearly} every household.  The worship service consisted of pre-worship music and entertainment, congregational singing, a very generous offering for the Ministerial Alliance, Thanksgiving Message and special music.   It has not yet been officially decided, but it appears a new tradition has been started.
