Logo is a visual representation of mission statement

West Zion Mennonite Church recently adopted a new logo.  We worked with the online company 99designs.com, sifting prayerfully through some 150 design proposals and seeking guidance from diverse constituencies within the church.  After a consensus process, we voted to adopt the new logo.

As with any symbol, there are multiple layers of meaning.  The cross with the open door represents our congregation’s commitment to welcoming others onto the path of discipleship.  Jesus is the center of our life together.  The circle represents our commitment to take the gospel to the world.  The blue color matches the blue of our stained glass.

Our logo is meant to be a visual representation of our Mission Statement:

“God calls us into community to worship God and follow Jesus through the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.”  The logo is a way to focus our outreach efforts in the community, and our Mission Team has been dreaming big about how we can connect to new families.

The logo can be seen on the masthead of our website: westzionmc.org or facebook.com/westzion.
