Rainbow Mennonite Church receives grant for WorshipArts program
Rainbow Mennonite Church in Kansas City, Kan.,was awarded a $12,000 grant to support expansion of its WorshipArts program.
Rainbow’s WorshipArts program provides music, worship and art opportunities for congregants in kindergarten through fifth grade. The grant will be used to implement a WorshipArts Year for the broader congregation.
The kickoff event will be an all-church retreat Sept. 20-21 led by internationally renowned composer Paul Rudy and educator/musician Lana Maree Haas.
The project coordinators are Rainbow Director of Music Roseann Penner Kaufman, project director, along with Pastor Ruth Harder and WorshipArts choir director Terri Gaeddert.
The grant was awarded as part of the Vital Worship Grant program from the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship, Grand Rapids, Mich., with funds provided by Lilly Endowment Inc.
