Church breaks bread in solidarity with Syria

For World Communion Sunday (Oct. 6), West Zion broke bread in solidarity with the war-torn country of Syria. We shared Syrian flat-bread (recipe at the link below), and adapted prayers from the Syrian Orthodox Book of Common Prayer for our communion liturgy. We planned our service in the shadow of the threat of US military intervention in Syria.  We gave thanks to God that when we gathered at the Lord’s Table, a US invasion had not taken place.
