Did you know we’ve been able to add 278 items to the Resource Library collection in 2017? I’m always looking for timely resources that help us engage our faith in ways that help us grow! Some new resources you may want to check out include:
Recovering from Un-natural Disasters by Laurie Kraus, David Holyan, and Bruce Wismer – A handbook for pastors and church leaders in responding to disasters such as gun violence, suicides, sexual abuse, etc. This volume includes step-by-step suggestions, and worship resources (prayers, music suggestions, and sermons to use during periods of trauma and recovery).
Smart Compassion: How to stop “doing outreach” and start making change and Smart Compassion: A handbook for making a difference when you don’t know where to start by Wesley Furlong – New book and study guide from MennoMedia that calls Christians to strategic, prayerful, and biblically based approaches to compassion. Discover wise strategies that bring Jesus’ love to your neighbors with practical steps for real change.
Upside down living adult Bible studies (various authors) – New study guides from MennoMedia on money, identity & aging, Sabbath, violence, sharing faith stories, and technology. Each 6-session guide encourages conversation and reflection on one of these relevant topics from an Anabaptist perspective.
We also have many new children’s titles, including many on the parables to follow up with this year’s MennoMedia VBS theme “Digging for treasure: Parables revealed” written by local WDC and SCC authors.
Stop by the library to check out these (and other) new resources or contact us to mail them to you. (316)283-6300 or crlib@mennowdc.org
