For the 11 weeks of summer, volunteers from the churches in Hillsboro, help fill lunch bags with a hot meat dish, fresh veggies, fresh fruit, and cookies. The bags are handed out to anyone who drives, skates, bicycles, or walks up to the food booth outside from 12:00-12:30 each week day of summer. We want to make sure that families that are experiencing food scarcity have at least one healthy meal a day. Every child is also offered a free pass to the local swimming pool for the day to socialize, exercise, and stay cool.
