–What We’re Hearing: Updates from the WDC Listening Process – Heidi Regier Kreider & Wendy Funk Schrag – As our conference-wide listening process continues through 2024, this workshop will offer a midway glimpse into experiences, observations and themes that are emerging from visits to congregations across WDC. -Mind the Gap: Adaptive Change in Congregations (Part 1) – Adrion Roberson – Spanish Interpretation Available – The workshop is geared towards helping believers see ‘the gap’ as a place where: there has been a struggle to make progress, this is the place where the Biblical adaptive work is, and this is the place where God/Jesus is. Therefore, if God’s Word IS what we believe It to be, Romans 8:28 confirms ‘the process’, Psalm 37: 1-5 validates the end result, and ‘gap’ processes expand our faith and endurance to believe for more impact! -Anabaptism at 500: Looking back, living forward – Mitch Stutzman – Hybrid – 2025 marks the 500th anniversary of Anabaptism. Come explore the Anabaptism at 500 project from MennoMedia and see how we are planning to celebrate this moment in our faith tradition. Location: Fellowship Hall (downstairs), Zoom
-Homestead National Historical Park Tour -This workshop is from 3-5pm – Michelle Armster – This free, 2-hour tour (3-5 pm) offers stories and information about the Homestead Act of 1862 which allowed any qualified person to claim up to 160 acres of land. Our tour begins at the Homestead Education Center (8523 W NE-4), then continues at the Homestead Heritage Center (1 mile away within the Park). Michelle Armster, MCC Central States Executive Director, will tell some homesteading stories of African-American families at the Education Center, then vans will transport people to the Homestead Heritage Center where you may explore the museum and/or grounds. How do we thank God for those who got a home through the Homesteading Act, while lamenting those who lost their homes on that same land? You may drive yourself or take a van (paid van riders have first priority). Vans leave for the tour at 2:50pm and van riders should meet in the church lobby. All others should meet the group at Homestead Education Center, 8523 W NE-4 at 3pm. Location: Offsite at the Homestead National Historic Park Heritage Center

-Planning Today For Impact Tomorrow – Mike Lamb – In a relatable and easy-to-understand format, this workshop will discuss the importance of basic estate planning and within these plans, the options for charitable legacy gifts to benefit congregations and the conference. Tour por el Parque Histórico Nacional Homestead – Este taller es de 3 a 5 pm – Michelle Armster – Este recorrido gratuito de 2 horas (de 3 a 5 pm) ofrece historias e información sobre la Ley de Homestead de 1862, que permitía a cualquier persona calificada reclamar hasta 160 acres de tierra. Nuestro recorrido comienza en el Homestead Education Center (8523 W NE-4) y luego continúa en el Homestead Heritage Center (a 1 milla de distancia dentro del parque).
