Intergenerational Faith Formation Track (for non-delegate adults, youth, and kids): The COVID pandemic upended many things in our churches. Faith formation was one area hit extremely hard. For many churches, it only accelerated the decline in children and youth participation in traditional Sunday school. Most churches have faced the question, what do we do now? There is no simple solution or strategy that works for context. However, as Mennonites, we have the value of community and there is deep wisdom we can draw from in our tradition to guide us.
Join the Faith Formation Track at the WDC Annual Assembly at Summit Street Church led by Sarah Neher, Pastor of Faith Formation at First Mennonite Church, Beatrice, NE! Vans are available to transport adults and minors, with an accompanying adult, who need it from First Mennonite to Summit Street Church in town. Kids are also welcome to join the worship services and will have their own youth faith formation time during the adult workshop sessions.
There will be a nursery available for kids ages 3 and under at First Mennonite Church throughout the assembly as noted on the assembly schedule with a * (Schedule). Parents or guardians will be emailed a youth medical form upon submission of their registration to be filled out and returned to the WDC office prior to assembly or at assembly check-in.
Dos Sesiones: Este año tendremos dos “sesiones” diferentes al mismo tiempo. La sesion de delegados es para aquellos que son enviados a la Asamblea como representantes de la iglesia para ayudar a tomar decisiones en nombre de nuestra conferencia. La sesión de formación de fe es para todos los demás (excepto niños menores de 3 años) se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia Summit Street que está en la ciudad. Sarah Neher, pastora asociada de Formación de Fe y otros guiarán a adultos, jóvenes y niños en edad escolar en una experiencia divertida y creativa de formación de fe multigeneracional. También comenzará con una introducción para adultos sobre cómo podemos realizar bien la formación de fe intergeneracional en nuestras propias congregaciones. Luego habrá cosas divertidas (música, historias bíblicas, arte y más) para hacer junto con personas de todas las edades. Hay camionetas disponibles para transportar adultos y menores, con un adulto acompañante, que lo necesiten desde First Mennonite hasta Summit Street Church.
