WDC leaders join witness in Kansas: Last week the Kansas Coalition Against the Death Penalty held a press conference at the Kansas capitol building in Topeka, KS, and delivered a letter from faith leaders calling on Governor Laura Kelly to commute death sentences in Kansas to life in prison without parole. Several WDC ministers signed the letter and Conference Minister Heidi Regier Kreider attended the press conference. Remarks were shared by four faith leaders including Steve Becker, a member of Buhler Mennonite Church. The press conference and the letter delivery can be viewed on the KCADP Facebook page. WDC is an Abolition Endorsing group with KCADP, based on the resolution passed by Mennonite Church USA delegates in 2001, A Resolution: The Death Penalty.
