KNOW JESUS is an overnight retreat for 6th – 8th graders where students can learn more about their Anabaptist roots through worship, service, and interactive activities. The event is organized by the Western District and South Central Conference Youth Ministry Committee of Mennonite Church USA, and hosted by Hesston College. Lodging

In order to meet our commitments to safe sanctuary guidelines, please remember that each youth group must have one sponsor per ten youth of each gender who will stay the night with their youth. For example, if you have 1-10 boys, you must have one adult male sponsor to spend the night. If you have 1-10 girls, you must have one adult female sponsor to spend the night.

  • Girls will sleep in Community Center and boys in the Education Hall

  • Accommodations will be on a carpeted floor, so please bring a sleeping pad or cot if you need one

  • Junior high youth must be in designated sleeping areas (12:00 am – 7:30 am)

  • REMEMBER!!!— sponsors are in charge of youth for the duration of their stay at KNOW JESUS

Service Opportunity

Numana is an international hunger relief organization based in El Dorado, KS. Numana facilitates food packaging events that educate people about hunger while empowering them to serve the hungry. The nutritious packaged meals go to families all over the world.

This is a two part service experience!

  • First, we have the opportunity to raise funds for Numana in our congregations before Know Jesus.  We are encouraging a donation of approximately $50 per person attending or about $450 per church.

  • We suggest gathering donations from your congregation and making a single donation rather than having people donate online individually.

  • During the Know Jesus event youth can practice living out their faith in a tangible way as we package meals together.
