Healthy Boundaries 101 Training

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Pastors new to Western District Conference or who have not taken the Healthy Boundaries 101 (formerly known as Prevention of Clergy Sexual Abuse Misconduct) training within the last three years, as is the new Mennonite Church USA standard for all credentialed people.

WHERE:  Iglesia Menonita Monte Horeb, 427 N. Marlborough Ave, Dallas, TX 75208

WHEN:  April 28, 2018, 8:30 am – 5 pm

We affirm that this training is crucial to effective ministry in our conference.  As you are aware, the healthy use of power and recognition of the misuse of power are important facets of Christian ministry.  Ways to stay healthy in ministry are to manage personal boundaries well, engage in regular self-care, and be aware of when you are most at risk of misconduct.  These topics and more will be discussed.  Byron Pellecer and Kathy Neufeld Dunn will co-train in the FaithTrust Institute model of prevention of clergy sexual misconduct.

The training will include large and small group discussions, viewing DVD clips, listening to presentations, active response, and journaling.  It will be an intense day, but we promise moments of light-heartedness too.  There will be coffee and rolls to enjoy as you check in, lunch, and an afternoon snack.  Your $55 registration fee pays for this food, overhead and all training resources.  Please register by April 20. You may register and pay online (SEE REGISTRATION FORM BELOW) or email us to let us know you are attending and send a check to WDC prior to the event.  You are also welcome to apply for Continuing Education grant money to pay for the cost of this event.  The grant application form is available at:
